Solidarity With Peter

For some reason, the Islamophobes of Pegida Denmark seem to think the streets of Copenhagen belong to them.  And so, most Saturdays, you’ll find them learning the same lesson over and over – that Islamophobia has no place in Denmark.

The people teaching them that lesson – the anti-fascists of Revolutionære Antifascister, Reaktion, and others – have been very successful so far.  But on April 23rd one of them – Peter – was unfortunately arrested by the police and detained for several weeks.

Upon hearing of this, The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund decided that we needed to send some support Peter’s way, which we have now done.  If you’d like to help Peter with his legal expenses, etc., we suggest making a donation to the Defence Fund and letting us know that it’s specifically for Peter – we’ll see that he gets it.  Of course, any donation you make will be used to defend and support anti-racists.

Solidarité Avec M!

Marseilleantifa

In August 2013, Action Antifasciste Marseille successfully mobilized to disrupt a National Front meeting organized by racist politician Stephanne Ravier.  While the action was successful, police arrested three antifascists.

Nearly three years after this and M., one of the three arrested antifascists, continues to face persecution by the state for his actions defending his city from bigots.  Currently, M. is obligated to pay a court fine of €1726.

The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund stands in solidarity with antifa like M. and has decided to send a contribution to help pay the fine.  Action Antifascist Marseille have set up a crowdfunding page where you can donate directly to M. as well.

Klinika Sends Some Love!

The Klinika Centre is something all cities should have.  This autonomous community centre has been a lifeline to refugees arriving in Prague – distributing food and clothing and offering free Czech and English language classes, in addition to their anti-authoritarian political work.

On February 2, 2016 a mob of racist cowards attacked Klinika, smashing out windows with rocks and crowbars and firebombing it – this with people inside the centre.  Several people were hospitalized and the centre suffered extensive damage.

The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund decided to send some material support to Klinika to help them repair the damage and continue with their important work welcoming refugees and fighting fascism and racism.  Today, they sent us a thank-you note!

Hey, comrades!

Thank you for your support. We very much appreciate your solidarity including the gift you sent us. Broken windows are already replaced, used anti-nazi tear gas refilled, house defense system upgraded a bit …and stickers from you found their place in proper spots 😉

You are most welcome at Klinika whenever some of you are visiting Prague. In the near future (14th of May) we are co-organizing an International Anarchist Bookfair here at Klinika, so if you want to spread out some of your materials, you can visit us or just sent them in by mail and we can print them and hand them out to the visitors.

Best of luck in whatever you’re doing or wherever you’re fighting.

Together, we can change the world!

Supporting Jason Hammond

Jason Hammond gets out of prison next week.  He is the last of the Tinley Park Five Six to still be serving time for his role in the infamous 2012 shutdown of the so-called “White Nationalist Economic Summit” at a restaurant in Tinley Park, Illinois.

Since his capture, Jason has been inspirational in how he’s dealt with his situation.  From his sentencing statement to his blog, everything Jason has done has shown his principled commitment to anti-fascism and anti-racism.

The transition from prison back to the outside can be tough on anyone and Jason’s support group wants to make sure that it goes smoothly.  To that end, they have been raising money to help him get back on his feet when he gets out next week.  The International Anti-Fascist Defence Fund was honored to be able to donate a little bit and get them further to their fundraising goal.

We can’t wait to see you out from behind prison bars next week, Jason!  La lucha continúa!
